As part of Doors Open Day in Argyll, Scottish Canals in partnership with Argyll and Bute Council and Ardrishaig Community Trust will open up the former Gleaner oil depot site at Ardrishaig waterfront on Sunday 24th Sept between 11am – 3pm. This will allow visitors the chance to find out more about the Ardrishaig area, the Crinan Canal and proposals for the area including the refurbishment and extension of a former egg crate building on the waterfront into a maritime hub.
Chris O’Connell, Scottish Canals’ heritage Manager will give a talk at 12 noon on the interpretation of Scottish Canals’ history inside one of the site’s buildings. There is also an interpretative art installation on site which people will be able to view.
