This year's Doors Open Days programme was another success. The diversity of buildings and event types continued to grow. Successful national themes included '500 Years of Printing in Scotland' and 'Storytelling'.
All 32 local authority areas within Scotland took part in Doors Open Days this year, as well as more buildings taking part than ever!

More women than men attended this year. Moray participation more than doubled, with 3,200 visits, and Dumfries and Galloway increased by almost 50%. Almost 32% of visitors were members of National Trust for Scotland.
The Tobacco Merchant's House, which is the Scottish Civic Trust's home, where Doors Open Days is nationally coordinated, received over 1000 visitors in 8 hours this year - a record!
A dozen Doors Open Days, and it's still going strong. Feebdack from visitors this year revealed that almost 20% visited 5 or more buildings, and almost 46% visited 3 or more buildings.
In 2001 visitors adventured into 228 new buildings. This wouldn't have been possible without the huge help of volunteers; an average of 6 volunteers worked in each building, with total voluntary man hours exceeding 15,560. Thank you all!
