Storytelling Events

The Scottish Storytelling Centre website tells us "Stories are all around us – in newspapers, novels, on TV and the Web. They are part of the way in which we understand our environment and experience and come to terms with them. True storytelling happens when the story is told person to person, live, without print or technology."

You'll find lots of 'unofficial' storytelling happening at Doors Open Day buildings from people with personal connections to sites and events.  Here though, are some highlights from more formal events which we hope you will enjoy.

Visitors will find the waterwheel turning and the working machinery visible from the viewing galleries.  The site is set up to allow the visiting public to explore the grounds and by reading the interpretation panels discover how water from the burn is directed into the mill pond from where it turns the mill wheel which works each of the machines required to process the oatmeal.

Activities
