As Gehry’s only UK building, Maggie’s Centre has his signature curving walls and undulating stainless steel roof, its form considered derivative of the Scottish broch. Its landmark tower contains a library and tiny seating area above, with fabulous views over Invergowrie Bay. Recipient of numerous architectural and building awards.
Visit West Green Park, created within the former Royal Liff psychiatric hospital. Within Greystanes House, on the walls of the patients’ dining room, view two large murals, painted by the renowned Scottish artist Alberto Morrocco. The unique murals, created in the 1960s, depict Work and Rest and feature Pablo Picasso.
Greystanes House is situated within 50 acres of landscaped gardens at West Green Park, Liff.
Consisting of Dundee Rep Ensemble, Scottish Dance Theatre and Rep Creative Learning, Dundee Rep is the most awarded theatre in Scotland and the nation’s leading producing house. You will be given access to all parts of the building normally closed to the public including the workshop, paintshop, rehearsal rooms and costume department.

Here is your chance to see behind the scenes of one of Dundee’s community fire stations. As well as getting the opportunity to see a working fire station in action, fire-fighters will be on hand to provide fire safety advice, offering free home fire safety visits and demonstrating some of their firefighting and rescue skills.
The personnel at Blackness Road Community Fire Station are looking forward to welcoming the community into the fire station as part of Doors Open Day. The station is an integral part of the community and the firefighters are keen to use Doors Open Day as an opportunity to show members of the public the full range of work they undertake to keep the communities safe.

Contemporary artists make and present art in so many ways …This behind the scenes tour shows you how an international art centre, like DCA, helps artists create and show their work. Meet creative and technical staff to hear more about their unique roles as you visit our Gallery Workshop and Print Studio spaces.

Situated near the town centre of Dundee city, it is the first purpose built Mosque in North-East Scotland, built using traditional Scottish materials and energy efficient construction techniques.
The Mosque is rich in Islamic symbolism and includes two prayer halls built facing Makkah and above the Minbar (pulpit) is a copper dome, both symbolic and for light.
Free refreshments, guided tours, and prayer demonstrations available. An exhibition and stalls will also be available for visitors. Free parking available on site.
An opportunity for you to view selected items from the City’s archive collections which date from the 14th century. Members of the Friends of Dundee City Archives will also be on hand to demonstrate the work they are doing to make the records more accessible to the public.
The bookable tours are your chance to discover the history of Dundee through a selection of the records held in the City Archives (which is housed in part of the Caird Hall building). As numbers are limited, booking is essential.
