Morgan Academy - Image 1

The Morgan is an imposing landmark building of tremedous architectural significance, originally designed in 1862 by the Edinburgh architects John Dick Peddie and Charles Kinnear. By the early 20th century, pressure for more suitable and additional accommodation resulted in extensive internal alterations including a large three story wing to the north and was completed in 1915, designed by the Architect James Langlands.

Due to a fire in 2001, much of the building was destroyed. It was rebuilt using the original facade and much of the internal appearance was kept and re-opened in August 2004.

Architect: John Dick Peddie & Charles Kinnear
Building Date: Designed 1862. Opened 1868.

Non-bookable.
