East Lothian (28th - 29th September)
Staffing changes at East Lothian Council meant that they could no longer coordinate Doors Open Days and the event temporarily halted. The Cockburn Association stepped into the breach in 2017 to take on delivery of the programme for their neighbours too! This endeavour has grown over the last two years to become a much larger programme, and compliments well the local activities in the neighbouring regions of Edinburgh and East Lothian.
Lucy Gray at The Cockburn Association is new in post for 2019, and has been putting together a great programme for East Lothian, with a record number of participating venues. Particular highlights include the Torness Nuclear Power Station and Lennoxlove House.
If you are an organisation based in East Lothian that would like to take on delivery of Doors Open Days please get in touch with the national coordinator at The Scottish Civic Trust.
